Clear Spring, Maryland

     Richard E. Davis, age 68, of Clear Spring, died Thursday, August 2, 2012, at his home.

     Born June 18, 1944, in Westernport, Md., he was the son of Alice M. Bray Davis, of Warfordsburg, and the late George William Davis; and husband of Evalina G. Meram Davis, of Clear Spring, whom he married April 5, 2005, in Winchester, Va.

   He was a 1962 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, and graduated from Hagerstown Junior College, with an Associate of Arts Degree.  He attended Faith Assembly of God Church, in Warfordsburg, Pa. He retired, in 2007, from Mack Truck, where he worked as a machinist.    

          Besides his wife and mother; he is survived by one daughter, Lisa G. Metcalfe and husband, Joe, of Hancock; one son, Chad E. Davis and wife, Sally, of Hagerstown; two step-daughters, Karen Meram, of Saudi Arabia, and Madel Meram, of the Philippines; one sister, Sharon Hendershot and husband, Kenneth; one brother, William E. Davis and wife, Nita, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

     Services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Jerusalem Christian Church, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Donald Stotler and Rev. Delmas Bard will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining Church cemetery.

     The family will receive friends on Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, and at the Church on Tuesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. For the convenience of family and friends, the Funeral Home will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
