I don't know how to start...gone is a man that was like my second father. I will miss him so. He was a friend, someone who I could talk to, who wouldn't judge me. I imagine he is in heaven, getting ready to get a deer drive started. Keep them running, old pard! I'll join you someday!! My heart goes out to his family. My prayers are with you.

To the family of Bob Strait,

This is the first time i've expressed condolences to someone over the internet. That in itself should tell you how sorry I am to hear of Bob passing away. I don't know of anyone I considered a nicer person. We go thru life and can touch alot of people in a positive or negative way. I pray God has his arms around Bob and telling him what a good job he did in life. We will miss seeing him at NAPA as he always brightened our day. Sincerely, Lynn Douglas

Things I will miss about Bob: Seeing the familiar wave of the hand when you blew the horn while passing the house; Hearing him say "Hey Gal" to Alice whenever he saw her and watching the big hug that soon followed; Hearing those hunting stories from over a half a century of hunting seasons; Hearing the stories of his and my father's escapades which oldly usually included a few cold beers; Knowing there was a good familiar story coming when he asked "Do you mind the time........?; Seeing him on that all too familiar Sears bat-wing mower; Knowing there was a man who would always help you if you needed it; and, Knowing a man that was never too busy to stop and chat with you.

If I had to pick a father other than the one God provided for me, I surely would have picked Bob. He was that kind of man. Goodbye old friend and God Bless!

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a wonderful person, always with a smile and a wave as I would pass by his house. My fondest memories are when I first moved two houses up from him. I was a young mother of three. My kids had to catch the school bus at his house, so twice a day I would walk down to put them on the bus and again to pick them up. Bob was always so kind and patience with the kids. He made everyone feel like you were friends forever. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I'm sure you will miss him, but someday we can meet again.
