Josephine E. Divelbiss, age 81, of National Pike, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at her home.
Born February 8, 1929 in Hagerstown, MD., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Josephine E. Riley Walling and the widow of Ersel R. Divelbiss, who died May 28, 1990.
She was formerly employed with J.J. Newberry and McCroys.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Stephanie A. Cunningham of Hagerstown, two grandsons; Jason A. Martin and Raymond E. Martin, both of Hagerstown, three sisters; Anna May Knight, Doris Shatzer and Ruth Myers, all of Hagerstown, two brothers; Charles Walling, Jr. and John E. Walling, both of Hagerstown, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Kay Martin, two sisters; Evelyn C. Billings and Betty Oberholzer, three brothers; Harry J. Walling, James M. Walling and George H. Walling.
A service will be held Saturday, July 10, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, MD. Chaplain Sally Maxwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Cemetery, Hancock, MD.
The family will receive friends Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742
