Needmore, Pennsylvania

     Joseph Walter, age 79, of Timber Ridge Road, died Sunday February 14, 2010 at his home.
     Born August 9, 1930 in Cabin John, MD., he was the son of the late Dewey L. and Mary Elizabeth Taylor Walter.

     He was retired from Devereaux Construction in Chevy Chase, MD. as a carpenter.
     He loved gardening.

     He is survived by his wife, Geraldine M. Geri DeFina Walter, three sons; Joey Walter of Falling Waters, WV., David Walter of Martinsburg, WV., Danny Walter of Needmore, PA.; one daughter, Jenny Lillis of Chicago, IL.; one brother, John Walter of Union Bridge, MD.; one sister, Anne Weaver of Gettysburg, PA., twelve grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Tom, Charles, Francis, Paul and Philip Walter; one sister, Jane Cantwell.

     A service will be held Friday February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, MD.  Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Episcopal church cemetery in Hancock.
     The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
