Warfordsburg, PA

     Herbert T. Stanley, age 81, of Warfordsburg, PA. died Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV.
     Born November 1, 1928 in Oneida, TN., he was the son of the late Millard and Una Birchfield Stanley.

     He was of the Protestant faith.
     He had been employed by B & P Motor Express as a truck driver.
     He was an avid coin collector, loved fishing, gardening and animals, and was also a private pilot.
     He served in the US Army stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas.

      He is survived by his wife, Oleta F. Deneen Stanley of Warfordsburg, who he married December 22, 1953 in Winchester, VA., children; Donna Bivens & fiancé Jerry Grandstaff of Harrisonburg, VA., Debbie McKee & husband Austin of Hancock, Jeff Stanley & girlfriend Kim Kirkhan, Craig Stanley & wife Samantha both of Warfordsburg, Wendy Haley & husband Patrick of Dayton, OH., sisters; Maude Stephens, Agnes Smith and Anna Cannell all of Detroit, MI., 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jennings Stanley.

     Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00a.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main Street, Hancock. The Rev. Delmas Bard will officiate.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m.
