     Mildred Fay Creek, age 90 years 2 months and 1 day, formerly of Little Orleans, MD. and of LaVale, MD., died Thursday February 25, 2010 at Christiana Medical Center in Newark, Delaware.
     Born Wednesday, December 24, 1919 in Piney Plains, MD., she was the daughter of the late Russell and Effie May Garland Smith and the widow of Homer E. Creek, who died in 1991.
     She was a seamstress for Londontown Mfg., formerly in Hancock, MD., and she previously had been employed with G.C. Murphy Co.
     She was a member of Piney Plains United Methodist Church, where she was a U.M. certified Lay Speaker, a member of the U.M. Women, a Sunday school teacher and Superintendent, a member of the U.M. Choir and a Youth teacher.
    She is survived by four sons; William Creek and wife Barbara of Moore, SC., Donald Creek and wife Elaine of New Castle, DE., Harold Creek, of Newark, DE. and David Creek and wife Beth of LaVale, MD.; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Lucille Creek and by brothers; Russell Smith, Marvin Smith, Coyle Smith, Henry Smith, Donald Smith, Melvin Smith and Freddie Smith, sisters; Hazel Hemler and Adele Chambers.
     A service will be held Tuesday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Piney Plains United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Jeffries will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
     The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday 9-11 a.m.
     Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, MD.
