David Elliott Bartlett, age 83, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the War Memorial Hospital, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Wednesday, August 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Dwight and Merna (MacFadden) Bartlett, and the husband of JoAnne (Hiles) Bartlett for 54 years.
He had been employed by H.B. Mellott Estate, Inc., in Warfordsburg, Pa., and the Fort Frederick State Park, in Big Pool, Md.
He was past detachment commander of the Sons of The American Legion detachment of Maryland, and also past squadron commander of the Hancock unit.
He was a member of the Tri-State Honor Guard for thirty-nine years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Hendershot, of Hancock, Md., and Debbie Swindell, of Needmore Pa.; one sister, Ina Simpson of Peoria, IL.; four grandchildren, Josh Reed, Jeremy Reed, Ryan Hendershot, and Amber Bartlett; and three great-grandchildren, Ivy Hendershot, Conner Reed and Madeline Reed.
He was preceded in death by two sons, David Bartlett, and Edward Bartlett.
