Alma G. Carpenter, age 93, of Hancock, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at her home.

Born February 12, 1922, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Franklin B. and Bertha Brady Bernhard, and the wife of Richard B. Carpenter, of Hancock.

She was a Christian.

She was retired from Londontown Mfg. Corp. in Hancock, where she worked as a seamstress.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Betty Foster and Janet Truax, both of Hagerstown, Md., and Ina Potter, of Hancock; one son, John Dyer, of Hagerstown, Md.; two sisters, Vivian Killlette, of Land O Lakes, Fl. and Mary Hanks, of McConnellsburg, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two grandsons, David Potter and Matt Truax; an infant granddaughter; a brother, Melvin Bernhard; and a sister, Virginia Mellott.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock. Burial will follow in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park cemetery, 17636 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, Md.

The family requests that memorial contributions, in her name, may be made to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, Md.  21742.
