Alma Grace Younker, age 81, of Hancock, Md., passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.
She loved her family, was a loving mother and wife, and she loved the outdoors.
Born June 6, 1936, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late George Carl and Alta Anna (Pittman) Coonrod, and the wife to Robert Lee Younker for 63 years.
She was a 1954 graduate of Hancock High School.
She had been employed by the Washington County Board of Education as a cafeteria and playground worker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Carol A. Fox and her husband, Wink, of Hancock, Linda M. Summers and her husband, Gary, of Williamsport, Md., and Peggy L. Fox and her husband, Roger, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two sons, James R. Younker and his wife, Patty, of Smithsburg, Md., and Steven L. Younker and his wife, Barbara, of Hancock; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and six sisters.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
The family will receive immediate family only, on Friday, August 11, 2017, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., and friends will be received from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 Pennsylvania Ave., in Hancock.
Funeral services will be held at the Church on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Mike Simane and Lynn Singleton will officiate. Burial will follow at the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, in Needmore, Pa.
Memorial donations, in her name, may be made to the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock, Md. 21750, or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21742.
