Billie Cornelison

Billie Jean Cornelison passed away on August 9, 2021 at her home in Warfordsburg, Pa. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Rd., Warfordsburg, Pa. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, August 13, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m.

Billie was born October 6, 1934, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., to Rose and William. She was raised in Upper Marlboro, Md. She married Fred J. Cornelison, and they celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2020. Fred’s Air Force career took Billie and their four children to postings in Mississippi, Louisiana, Nevada, Germany, New Mexico, and Libya before retiring in Maryland.

After moving to Warfordsburg in 1981, Billie became an active member of the Buck Valley Christian Church, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also volunteered as a teacher with the Fulton County Bible Release Time.

In 2010 Fred and Billie relocated to Metter, Ga. for several years before returning to Warfordsburg.

Billie will be dearly missed by her loving husband. She was the much-loved mother of Fred Cornelison (Wendy), James Cornelison, and Debbie Degges (Bob); proud Nanna of Beth Hindsley (Pat), Andrew Degges (Kelli), William Cornelison (Sarah), Joseph Cornelison, Alana Nelson, Matthew Cornelison (Destiny), and Grace Cornelison; and Great-Nanna to Brinleigh and Harper Degges, Daniel Hindsley, and Ida Cornelison; and loving sister of Becky Perry (Tom); and brother, Rocky; and a host of dear nieces and nephews.

Billie was pre-deceased by daughters, Clara Jeanne and Cathy Nelson; sisters, Barbara and Sharon; and brother, Jimmy.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in her name be made to Buck Valley Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 2281 Harmonia Rd., Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
