Carson “Buck” Johnson, Jr., age 71, of Hancock, Md., passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

Born April 9, 1946, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Carson, Sr. and Virginia (Smith) Johnson, and the husband of Bonnie J. (Golden) Johnson, whom he married on June 20, 1969 at the Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren, near Hancock.

He was employed as a machinist for Statton Furniture Mfg. Co., in Hagerstown, Md.

He was a member of the Orchard Ridge First Church of God.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Anne Harrell and her husband, Chris, of Annvillle, Pa., and Penny Sue Upton, of Hancock; four sisters, Madeline McHoul, of Hancock, Carolyn Witt, of Preston, Md., Jo Ann Desjardin, of Greensboro, N.C., and Joy Johnson, of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, Kenny Johnson, of Hancock; and four grandchildren, Miles Harrell, Maia Harrell, Brittany Upton and Brooke Upton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Perry Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, and at the Church one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, 14128 Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, Md., with Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker and Rev. Harry Strite officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining church cemetery.
