Denise Lynne Potter, age 54, of Hancock, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Md.

Born November 25, 1961, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Naomi (Shives) Younker. She was the wife of Stanley W. Potter, whom she married August 9, 1980, at the Hancock Assembly of God Church.

She attended the Hancock Assembly of God Church.

She was a member of the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion Auxiliary, in Hancock.

She loved her dogs; Bear, Princess and Rex, and her cat, Tootsie.  She enjoyed family get-togethers, camping and the outdoors, small trips to Skyline Drive and Lancaster, Pa., baking and cooking. She always thought of others before herself.

Besides her husband, she is survived by their children, Randy Whisner and his significant other, Chrystal, Joseph Potter, and Kymber Divelbliss and husband, Josh; brothers and sisters, Rodney Younker and wife, Joyce, of Hancock, Larry Younker, of W.Va., Mike Younker and wife, Janet, Gayle Younker and wife, Robin, Gloria Fleegle and husband, Bob, all of Hancock, Joan Younker, of Clear Spring, Md., and Ramona Kesselring and husband, John, of Berkeley Springs W.Va.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Ina (Dyer) Potter; and numerous nieces and nephews .

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Younker; and her first husband, Reid Ranford Whisner.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 North Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock. Rev. Don Preston will officiate. Burial will follow at the Parkhead Cemetery, National Pike, Big Pool, Md.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Sunday, from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m.
