Goldie Deneen

Goldie Elizabeth Deneen, age 80, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Providence Place, in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born October 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Mills) Lanehart, and the widow of Glenn F. Deneen, who passed away on March 10, 2006.

Goldie was a homemaker, and a caregiver.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She was an avid bowler; a member of the Connections Club at Providence Place; a member of the Warfordsburg Senior Citizens Center; and a volunteer with the Bible Release program of Camp Joy-El.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Stiles and her husband, Michael, of Cottage Grove, Tn., Michael Deneen and his wife, Dora, of Hustontown, Pa., Glenda Deneen, of Georgia, John Deneen and his fiancé, Mary Ann Fox, of Hagerstown Md., and Leslie Powell and her husband, Steve, of Hagerstown; one sister, Patricia Benfield, of Florida; three grandsons, Adam, Alex, and Chris Deneen; two granddaughters, Lauren and Olivia Powell; five great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Aaron Deneen; five brothers, Emory, Alton, Harry, and Charles Lanehart and Tim Divelbliss; and one sister, Edna Staubs.

The family will receive friends at the Amaranth Church of the Brethren, 2709 McKee’s Gap Road, Warfordsburg, on Thursday, December 21, 2017, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m., and services will be held there at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Delmas Bard officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
