Harry Cornelius "Neil" McKinley, Jr., age 72, of Hancock, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016, at his home.

Born January 28, 1944, in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of Lucy Patricia Billings McKinley, and the late Harry Cornelius McKinley, Sr.

He was a 1962 graduate of Massanutten Military Academy, in Woodstock, Va.

He retired from the Maryland Correctional Institution, in Hagerstown, Md.

Neil was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Life Member of the Tonoloway Rod & Gun Club, in Hancock.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mildred Diana Unger McKinley; one daughter, Shelly Kerns, of Hancock; one son, Colin McKinley, of Hancock; one brother, Stephen McKinley, of Hagerstown, Md.; one sister, Patricia Crouse, of Lexington, Va.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Church and High Streets, Hancock, on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Allan Weatherholt will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church, on Thursday, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hancock Rescue Squad, 6 East Main Street, Hancock, Md. 21750, or the Hancock Volunteer Fire Company, 3 Fulton Street, Hancock, Md. 21750.
