John Murray

John Charles Murray, age 70, of Hancock, Md., died on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home.

Born December 31, 1946, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Leo L. Murray, Sr. and Anna Jean (Shaw) Murray Pierce, and the step-son of the late Al Pierce.

He was a 1965 graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School, in Hagerstown, Md.

He is a military veteran, having served in the US Army, and he was employed as an engineer by the Maryland State Highway Commission.

John loved to hunt and fish, and was a member of the Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club, in Hancock.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Larue Murray, of Hancock; a daughter, Tara M. Murray, of Hancock; a son, John Jeremy Murray, Sr., of Dundalk, Md.; a grandson, John Jeremy Murray, Jr.; a step-son, Timothy R. Smith, of Frederick, Md.; three step-granddaughters, Erin Smith Arnold, Michelle Fox Zaccagnini, and Monica Morris; four brothers, Gregory L. Murray, Leo L Murray, Jr., Danny Murray and Anthony P. Murray; and three sisters, Candice A. Silver, Theresa M. Funk, and Connie S. Willard.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at the convenience of the family.
