Paul Bowers

Paul Roger Bowers, 79, of Warfordsburg, Pa. passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Valley Health War Memorial Hospital, in Berkeley Springs, WV.

Born August 9, 1942, in Berkeley Springs, WV., he was the son of the late Walter and Ethel (Barnhart) Bowers.

In his early years he was a carpenter for McCray Building Supply. He retired from Fleming Oil Co in 1998. He was a member of the Berkeley Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his companion and special friend of 28 years, Hilda Buskirk, of Hancock, MD.; one son, Paul A. Bowers, and wife Kathy, of Warfordsburg, PA.; Hilda’s two sons, Scott and T.J. Buskirk, who were like his own sons; two granddaughters Kajin Yost and Makayla Bowers, both of Martinsburg, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Bowers, and Gerald Barnhart; and two sisters, Bertha Helmick and Mary Custer.

The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St. Hancock, Md on Saturday January 29, 2022, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will follow 11:00 a.m. Rev. Joseph N. Giles will officiate. Burial will follow at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Needmore, PA.  Masks Recommended for those in attendance.

Memorial donations can be made in his name to the Hancock Rescue Squad, 6 East Main St., Hancock, MD. 21750.
