Thomas Jackson “Pop” Strong, Sr., age 75, of Clinton, Md., died on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the residence of his daughter, Deborah Cohill, of Hancock, Md.

Born Saturday, October 11, 1941, in Louisa County, Va., he was the son of the late John William Strong and Thelma (Sprouse) Strong; and the husband of Peggy Ann (Harris) Strong, of Hancock, Md., whom he married August 22, 1959.

He attended Louisa High School.

He was a self-employed Master Plumber for over forty-five years.

He was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, in Hancock, Md.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 126, in Clinton, Md.

He was an avid Orioles fan, and hasn’t missed an opening day for more than two decades. He also loved the Ravens and the Redskins.

In addition to his wife, Peggy Ann (Harris) Strong , he is also survived by two daughters, Deborah Cohill and her husband, John, of Hancock, and Cathy Telli and her husband, Vincent, of Mechanicsville, Md.; two sons, Thomas Jackson Strong, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Huntingtown, Md., and Richard Allen Strong, of Hancock, Md.; one brother, John Strong, of Mineral, Va.; two sisters, Thelma Jackson, of Mechanicsville, Va., and Brenda Smith and husband, Henry, of Louisa, Va.; nine grandchildren, John Cohill, Jr. and wife, Jamie, of Newark, De., Thomas Strong, lll and wife, Trish, of Huntingtown, Md., John Strong, of Huntingtown, Md., Autumn Williamson and husband, Ronnie of Clinton, Md., April Moore, of Raleigh, NC, Michael Galloway, of Upper Marlboro, Md., April Telli, of White Plains, Md., Vincent Telli, lll, of Waldorf, Md., and Richard Strong, lV and fiance, Sarah Evans, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Jack, Austin and Nina Cohill, of Newark, De., Katelynn, Kelsey, Hayleigh and Thomas Strong, lV of Huntingtown, Md., Teagan Williamson, of Clinton, Md., Riley Moore and Memphis Simpkins, of Raleigh, NC, Kayleen Galloway, of Upper Marlboro, Md., Adelina Gordon, of White Plains, Md., Ashlynn Telli, of Waldorf, Md., Maverick and Odin Long and Julietta Strong, of Waynesboro Pa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Abner Strong; a sister, Mary Lee Thomas; and a grandson, Seth Strong.

A Memorial Eucharist will be held at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2 East High Street, Hancock, Md., on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service.
