Wason Arlington “Jack” Cubbage, age 82, of Hancock, Md., died on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Meritus Medical Center, near Hagerstown, Md.

Born April 26, 1935, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Wason William and Vada Belle (Barnhart) Cubbage, and the husband of Donna Jean (Seville) Cubbage, whom he married August 13, 1983, in Hagerstown, Md.

He was retired from Rohr Industries, in Hagerstown, where he worked in Quality Control.

He was a 1954 graduate of Hancock High School.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Hancock Ward; the Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club; the NRA; and he was a union steward in the UAW.

Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kelly Hockett and husband, Mike, of Allen, TX.; three sisters, Juanita Hart and husband, Gary, Shirley Divel and Dorothy Mosier, all of Hancock; one brother, Samuel Cubbage, of Artemas, Pa.; three grandchildren, Sara Jones, Emily Hockett, and Ian Hockett, all of Allen, TX.; and two great-grandchildren, Lloyd Jones, Jr., and Maggie Jones, of Allen, TX.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rachel Divelbiss.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, in Hancock, on Saturday, June 3, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., when funeral services will then be held at 11:00. Pastor Michael Faith will be officiating. Interment will follow at Damascus Cemetery, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name, may be made to the charity or organization of your choice.
