Bennett Murray

Reverend Bennett G. Murray, age 86, of Goldizen Lane, Clear Spring, MD., graduated to Glory to be with his Lord on 15th of January, 2022, at Meritus Hospital, with his family by his side, just 1 ½ hours before his 62nd wedding anniversary.

He was born in Big Pool, MD., on November 8, 1935, the son of the late William F. Murray and Bessie Lurena (Miller) Murray. He was blessed to have praying parents who led him to appreciate and respect the Lord. Reverend Murray, who was the last surviving child of ten, is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lenore Darlene (Vann) Murray; one daughter, Cherie Darlene Evans, husband Paul and son Michael; two sons, Gregory Bennett Murray and wife Debbie including his children, grandchildren and great grandson, the only great-great-grandson of Reverend Bennett G. Murray; and William Vann Murray, wife Gwen and daughter Erica, of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, Orchard Ridge Road, Hancock, MD, at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022, with Pastor Vernon Bray and Pastor Jeff Barbour officiating. Interment will be at Orchard Ridge First Church of God Cemetery.  There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
