Dorothy Louise Hovermale, age 76, of Hancock, Md., passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 19, 1944, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Ruth (Bishop) Bishop, and the wife of Vernon Hovermale.

She was a member of Jehovah’s Witness, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. She was employed by Rayloc, and retired after thirty-two years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived three children, Daniel Wayne Hovermale, of Hancock, Teresa Ann Holt and husband Steve, of Westminster, Md., and Sherry Lyn Blankley and husband Roger, of Warfordsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren, Shane Allen Blankley, Heather Yvonne Exline, Misty Marie Stotler, and Leslie Amber Holt; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Jesse R. Bishop, of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Arthur S. Bishop and wife Carol, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Sondra K. (Crabtree) Bishop; and a large circle of friends from the Kingdom Hall, where she loved participating in the door-to-door ministry with the Jehovah’s Witness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank B. Bishop, Sr., and James Bishop; and three sisters, Anna Mary Powell, Verna Lee Bishop, and Nancy Bishop.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 4992 Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
