Ellen Belle Norris, age 95, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020, at the War Memorial Hospital, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born June 4, 1924, in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene May (Buckner) Payne; and the widow of John William Norris, Sr.

She attended Grace Christian Fellowship Church, in Hancock.

Ellen is survived by three daughters, Virginia Frances Jones, and Barbra Ellen Hackathrone, both of Erie, Pa., and Debra Ann Love, of Milford, Oh.; one sister, Jackie Divelbiss Mellott, of Hancock; eight grandchildren, Robert Hoopengardner, Amy Swartz, Steve Chludzinski, Jerry Miley, Ritchie Miley, Michaela Waugh, Loucinda Schlotterbeck, and Paul Norris; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Miley and Scott Love; one daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Norris; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John William Norris, Jr.; two daughters, Mary Ellen Norris, and Darlene Miley; four brothers, Glen Payne, Sam Payne, Charles Payne and infant David Payne; four half-brothers, Roy Payne, Russell Payne, Richard Payne and Lyle Payne; and four half-sisters, Winnie Fox, Louise Fox, Rachel McBee, and Hazel "Peg” Hendershot.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
