Helen Geneva (Hull) McCarty

Helen Geneva McCarty, 88, Hancock, MD., passed away, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

Born July 6, 1934, in Berkeley Springs, WV., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Hull and Martha Gladhill Hull and the widower of James Warren McCarty.

She was a member of Orchard Ridge First Church of God.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Rose M. Jones, and husband, Danny, Mercersburg, PA., Bonnie S. McCarty, and companion, Dave Temple, Berkeley Springs, WV., and Donna D. Powell, and husband, Dave, of Needmore, PA.; four sons, James A. McCarty, and wife, Julie, Clayton W. McCarty, and wife, Donna, Eddy L. McCarty, all of Hancock, MD., and Michael S. McCarty, Needmore, PA.; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William Hull, Hagerstown, MD., one sister, Mary Johnson, Hagerstown, MD.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Orchard Ridge First Church of God, 14128 Orchard Ridge RD, Hancock, MD. Pastors Jeff Hawbaker and Darhl Trail will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date.
