Johnny Allen Reed, age 47, of Hancock, Md., passed away at his home on Monday, July 8, 2019.

Born in Hagerstown, Md., on September 23, 1971, he was the son of Pauline (Mason) Reed, of Hancock, and the late Larry "Pork" Reed; and the husband of Erica (Zies) Reed.

He was a graduate of Hancock High School with the class of 1989; and a member of the Orchard Ridge First Church of God.

He loved to fish, hunt, and search for mushrooms. He was a self-taught and self-employed carpenter in the Tri-State area for over thirty years.

In addition to his wife and mother, Johnny is survived by two sons, Jacob and Jace Reed, both of Hancock; two brothers, Bradley Reed and his wife, Lisa, of Mercersburg, Pa., and Walter “Pudge” Reed, of Hancock; four nieces, Angel Reed, Michaeleon Merchant, Celina Merchant, and Bethany Zies; his mother and father-in-law, Deborah and Charles “Steve” Zies; and a sister-in-law, Brandy Merchant.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Reed; both of his paternal grandparents; and a brother-in-law, Charles S. Zies, ll.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., at the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, 240 East Main Street, Hancock, Md. Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker will officiate.

A gathering of family and friends will follow the service.
