Mary Ann Merrell, age 82, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Doey’s House, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born April 23, 1939, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late John Ernest Barnard and Pauline (Spitzer) Barnard; and the widow of Raymond Merrell.

Mary was a homemaker; and enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and crocheting.

She is survived by four daughters, Judy Allison, of Breezewood, Pa., Brenda Allison, of Hagerstown, Md., Betty Allison, of Hancock, Md., and Patricia Jones, of Florida; a son, James Allison, Jr., of Hancock, Md.; a brother, Charles Barnard, of South Carolina; and numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Bradshaw, and Ann Marie Allison; by two brothers, Jack and Mike Barnard; and by a grandson, Robert J. Allison.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
