Patricia Ann Webster, age 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at her home in Adelphi, Md.

Born March 17, 1939, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Margaret E. and James R. Smith.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl Webster, Sr.

Patsy, as she was affectionately known, graduated from Hancock High School in 1957.  She enlisted in the U. S. Army in February, 1961, and was assigned to Company D of the U.S. Women’s Army Corp, in Fort McClellan, Ala.  She achieved the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.  She was honorably discharged in 1963.

Patsy moved to Wash. D.C., seeking to better herself, and attended the American Institute Secretarial & Business School, in Wash., DC. She later attended the business program of Federal City College, in Wash. D.C. from 1971 until 1974.

She met and married her husband Carl Webster and they began their life together. In 1966, they welcomed their only child, son, Carl, Jr.  Patsy loved her family.

She was always striving to improve herself, not for her own good, but so she could better help others. Beautiful on the outside, heart of gold on the inside; Patsy was a generous person. Those around her were blessed by her kind, thoughtful acts. She will be remembered by many for those acts of kindness and compassion.

She is survived by her loving son, Carl Webster, Jr., of Adelphi, Md.; four brothers, Donald Smith and his wife, Elizabeth, of Frederick, Md., Hubert Smith and his wife, Naomi, of Dayton, Oh., Leo Smith, of Hancock, Md., and Stanley Smith and his wife, Diane, of Florissant, Mo.; and a host of nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Dotson and her husband, Herbert, of Hagerstown, Md., and Pauline Brooks and her husband, James, also of Hagerstown; and four brothers, James Smith and Paul Smith, both of Hancock, Md., and Fred Smith and his wife, Margaret, of Hagerstown, Md., and Jack Smith, also of Hagerstown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May, 28th, at 1:00 p.m., at the St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 East High Street, Hancock, Md., with Father Jack Lombardi officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
