Robert Mark Hoffman, age 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Doey’s House, in Hagerstown, Md.
Born August 8, 1932, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Paul Lester Hoffman and Hilda Margaret (Imphong) Hoffman.
He was married to the love of his life, Anna Mae (Trail) Hoffman, on February 11, 1951. Next week would have marked 70 wonderful years together.
In his early years he was a dairy farmer and school bus driver. He was later employed with the State of Maryland Regional Lab, in Hancock, Md., until his retirement in 1992 after 25 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Jean Kerns and her husband, Dan; two sons, Douglas Lester Hoffman, and Bradley Wade Hoffman and his wife, Tammy, all of Hancock; eight grandchildren, Mickey Kerns, Brian Kerns, Jonathan Kerns, Derek Hoffman, Rebecca Ryan, Kyle Hoffman, Mark Allen Hoffman, and Christopher Hoffman; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Fisher, of Hancock.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Allen Arthur Hoffman.
Of all the things Mark cherished most, none was more important to him than his love for Jesus Christ, and his family. Mark loved attending church on Sundays and spending time with his family and friends for a good long conversation. He truly enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, a love which he passed on to his kids and grandkids. For many years he, along with Anna and daughter, Debbie, could be spotted bringing home a truckload of yard sale goodies from their Saturday morning trips together.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in his name may be made to Doey’s House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742
Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, was entrusted with making the arrangements. Online condolences will be accepted at www.grovefh.com
