Ronald Lee Jones, age 71, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Born July 19, 1948, in Hagerstown Md., he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Hedges) Jones, and raised by George and Genevieve Dunham.

He graduated in 1966 from South Hagerstown High School, in Hagerstown.

He was an Eagle Scout, and attended the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree in Valley Forge, Pa. and Philmont Scout Ranch, in N.Mex.

Ronald retired from General Motors, in Martinsburg, W.Va., after thirty years of employment. He loved to hunt, fish, listen to Blue Grass music, and work on his property with his trusty weed eater.

He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, JoAnn (Beatty) Jones; two sons, Roger Beatty and his wife, Judy, and Richard Beatty and his wife, Eileen; two daughters, Betty Whetzel and her friend, Jeff, and Lisa Everetts and her husband, Jim; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Jim Jones and his wife, Lisa, Paul M. Brode, and Richard Hopkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Roberts.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Sunday, December 8, 2019, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, in Warfordsburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
